Following the “double carbon” target strategy, HE new materials in action
Recently, the Nanjing Municipal Government issued the “Implementation Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development and Achieving Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality.” These opinions emphasize the importance of prioritizing green, low-carbon, and circular development, unswervingly pursuing a high-quality development path that prioritizes ecology and green, low-carbon development, and ensuring the timely achievement of the “dual carbon” goals. Nanjing Gaoyi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is committed to closely adhering to the national dual-carbon strategic goals and implementing a green, low-carbon, and high-quality development path.
The keyword “dual carbon” has been trending in recent years. At the 75th United Nations General Assembly in 2020, the Chinese government pledged to strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. During last year’s Two Sessions, the “dual carbon” keyword became a hot topic nationwide, and the subsequent government work report even included the “dual carbon” goals. At a time when the whole country is aiming to implement the “dual carbon” goals and firmly promoting the path of green and low-carbon development, Nanjing Gaoyi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., as an explorer and practitioner in the straw industry, has always shouldered a strong sense of social responsibility and actively practiced social responsibility. Based on its own expertise, it has formed a multi-dimensional system including infrastructure, production processes, and green products to fully assist in the implementation of the “dual carbon” goals.

In terms of infrastructure and environment, Gaoyi New Materials is located in Gaochun District, an international slow city, boasting a garden-style factory covering over 12,000 square meters. The park boasts a high vegetation coverage rate, a well-planned landscape, and a well-developed artificial lake ecosystem, home to abundant fish, ducks, and aquatic plants.
Gaoyi New Materials also plans to upgrade its energy-saving and emission-reduction design throughout the park, installing photovoltaic panels to generate solar power. Furthermore, the office buildings, workshops, and ecological exhibition halls within the park all feature energy-saving lighting, with floor-to-ceiling windows and other features fully utilizing natural lighting. The workshop’s production equipment, leveraging its patented technology, is fully automated to achieve energy conservation and consumption reduction goals.
In terms of production, in light of the national “dual carbon” goals and the “plastic ban” initiative, and in light of the current state of the straw industry, the founding team proactively developed a new concept for eco-friendly paper straws. The single-layer structure requires significantly less paper than traditional multi-layer paper straws, and the production equipment consumes over 60% less electricity than traditional straws. We strive to minimize resource consumption to the greatest extent possible. Furthermore, this new paper straw recycling process does not require specialized composting conditions and is 100% naturally decomposable in the natural environment, leaving no harm to the environment. It also significantly reduces carbon emissions from previous petroleum-based plastic production, playing a positive role in achieving the “dual carbon” goals.

Of course, the path to green and low-carbon development requires more than just reducing environmental impact. Actively recycling and reusing existing products is a crucial approach. Gaoyi New Materials’ new straws are 99% recyclable, recycled into other paper products through pulping, thus achieving energy conservation and low carbon emissions.
As the old saying goes, “Observe the way of Heaven and follow its course.” How to achieve harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature is a question everyone should consider today. Gaoyi New Materials will continue to practice General Secretary Xi Jinping’s ecological philosophy of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” implement the new development philosophy, promote industry development, and unwaveringly pursue a green and low-carbon development path.
